When I left the workshop I was hooked

In January 2019 I took a workshop at one of my favourite places @themusecoffeehouse to learn how to make a notebook with @mjiiiie. When I left the workshop I was hooked. The ones I make now are very different to that first one but it taught me the basics of bookbinding and ignited a spark of creativity (and a bit of an obsession!)

I leave with more than a notebook!

As a writer, my notebook is a sacred space. I handmake all my notebooks under the guidance of the brilliant Marie-Jeanne. Each notebook is unique and personal; a true work of art. Marie-Jeanne creates a beautiful, serene and perfectly paced session. I leave with more than a notebook; magical pages onto which I write the beatings of my heart.

Summer kid’s sewing club

Would like to say a huge thank you to MJ for an amazing kids workshop yesterday. My daughter was raving about the day and even came home and made her own miniature bag using the techniques she learned yesterday. Huge thanks for such a wonderful workshop. Am gutted I didn’t get to sign her on for more dates this summer.

French Speaking & Crafts

I met with Marie-Jeanne for an hour every week to improve my French speaking ahead of my French GCSE exam. We did a lot of art and had a lot of fun and my French speaking exam went really well. Thank you so much Marie-Jeanne! Merci!

Marie-Jeanne teaches our daughter French.

Marie-Jeanne teaches our 4 3/4 year old daughter French. Marie-Jeanne is thoughtful, creative, and friendly. Our daughter always looks forward to her time with Marie-Jeanne. I don’t think she sees it as a lesson at all, but instead an hour of fun.

Marie-Jeanne is brilliant!

Marie-Jeanne is so talented and her passion and creativity comes through with every project she undertakes, whether it be a workshop or handmade bespoke item. She has made many items for us and also run a number of workshops. Her products are so well made and unique and her workshops are fun and friendly. She is great with kids and her passed experience in teaching really shines through. I would thoroughly recommend Marie-Jeanne to anyone interested in a creative workshop or wanting a unique item made with love.

MJ is so wonderfully creative!

MJ is so wonderfully creative, engaging and talented. She has a deep intuition and empathy for children and their needs, which is so beautifully illustrated in the way they respond in her company and care.

MJ puts her heart and soul into her beautiful creations, carefully planning materials that are not only aesthetically pleasing but environmentally and kid friendly too.

Her sessions also have educational and emotional value to them such as relaxation, socialising, learning new languages, numeracy and literacy and understand of the world around them. And of course confidence building,

MJ is an absolute gem of a person as well as teacher, and her talents seem to have no limits. Highly recommend her services to anyone from age 0 – 99!
