I originally started this website as a blog for myself, to collect my favourite recipes and activities in one place and access it easily.

I have enjoyed art and craft all my life: I have always loved MAKING.

I am lucky to have grown up in a creative family. My mother was always busy cooking, sewing, gardening, flower arranging or interior decorating. My father was a carpenter and a sculptor, making all sorts of furniture, marquetry or even wooden puzzles; he also had a beautiful handwriting. They both happily let the children join in, so from as young as six, I was often found at home drawing, cutting, gluing or at the sewing machine making clothes for my dolls and later for myself. My other favourite place was my father’s workshop playing with wood offcuts, hammers, nails and experimenting with tools.

I am most happy when I am engrossed in a creative activity… and when I am happy: I want to create more! I always seek to learn new skills and so far, my favourites have been drawing, pottery, sewing, calligraphy and my latest is bookbinding. My hobbies have been very varies and here are a few: wood carving, painting, cooking, scrapbooking, photography, printing, stamping, illustrating, and the list goes on…  Also, as I worked with children for a great part of my life as a nursery school teacher, I collected ideas of activities for very young ones to learn and play.

I like turquoise and walking by the sea, peacocks, trees, raspberries, flamingos, big breakfasts and sunny days. I also like holidays, collecting drift wood, taking photos, dragonflies and the smell of freshly baked bread.

Hope you can find a few ideas here to try yourself!
